About the event

We have all been hearing and seeing the news pour in over the past weeks with all that is going on in Afghanistan. Our hearts are heavy. We grieve for the displaced and vulnerable seeking refuge both in and out of the country. We know that earnest prayer is highly effective (James 5:16), and there is great power and beauty in the unity of a Body on their knees before our Father in heaven. We thus feel led to come together in a physical way as a local Body of believers (Alpena and surrounding area) to pray over this unfolding situation, to cry out on behalf of the broken-hearted, and to pour out our sorrows before our Holy God. We urge you to join us.

We will be meeting from 6:00 to 7:30pm on Wednesday, August 25th, at the Bandshell in Alpena. A tentative agenda is provided below.

6:00pm - Welcome & introduction (Katelynn Moffat) 6:10pm - Opening prayer (Pastor Lee Blanchard) 6:20pm - Small group prayer breakout (all welcome to participate; prayer points provided for reference) 7:20pm - Closing hymn (led by Taylor Oliver) & pastoral prayer

Pastors, if you feel led, we ask that you would share this information with your congregations this Sunday. Please also consider including this urgent request in prayer chains.
