JOB TITLE: Youth Director / Volunteer Coordinator

General Job Description:

This position is twofold. The first part of this position is the Youth Director which leads the youth ministry of Living Hope Church. This position encourages and equips all of Living Hope Church’s 6th – 12th grade students to walk in the ways of Christ. The second aspect of this role is that of Volunteer Coordinator. The main, general role of this position is the assisting of ministry leaders in coordinating and scheduling volunteers that support Sunday morning worship services.

Ministry Objective:

The ministry objective of this role is also twofold:

  • First, to grow the youth ministry and disciple students within the youth ministry through weekly teaching, personal discipleship, and relational gatherings.

  • Second, to ensure that Sunday morning worship services have adequate volunteers (children’s classrooms, greeters, hospitality), thus helping us accomplish our mission and reaching our community.



  • Lead Youth Ministry for a mid-week service.

  • Build a team of Youth Leaders to help facilitate the Youth Ministry as well as equip and encourage the students of Living Hope Church

  • Care for the Youth Ministry volunteers in the youth ministry: pray for them,

    communicate prayer needs to the Prayer Team, encourage them, and lift them up

  • Provide Godly care and counsel for your students, when needed.

  • Research and prepare curriculum for mid-week service.

  • Plan and lead youth related community events.

  • Meet with the Lead Pastor regularly to discuss vision and planning for youth ministry.

  • Communicate with parents on upcoming events and any concerns that may involve their child.


  • Creating, populating, and managing Church Community Builder scheduling for Sunday morning volunteers.

  • Assisting Ministry Leaders with recruiting volunteers.

  • Processing background checks

  • Assist the Family Pastor with volunteer “onboarding.”

  • Filling in Sunday morning roles if volunteers are unable to keep their commitment

    including but not limited to greeters, hospitality, children’s classroom assistant and

    teachers, etc.

  • General office duties including but not limited to answering phones, filing, welcome

    guests during the week.

  • Directing and assisting the needs of those who come into the office of Living Hope

    Church during office hours to the appropriate source.



  • A passionate, rooted personal relationship with Jesus

  • A clear call to lead middle and high school students into a deep, authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Outgoing and enthusiastic personality

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • At least 21 years of age

  • The ability to stay organized


  • At least two years of experience as a youth director/leader (under the leadership of a Youth Director/Pastor) at a previous church or an associates degree in a ministry related field

  • Proficiency / working knowledge of Microsoft Office 


  • Effectively communicate the basic truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ from scripture

  • General Administrative duties

       o Answering phones

       o Taking memos

       o Assisting with office documentation

  • Clearly communicate with individuals inside and outside the church both verbally and written


  • A ministry mentorship from the Lead Pastor
